GLOBALCARE AND DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY was established in the year 2007 by a group of eminent visionaries and social workers with the primary aim of upliftment of the backward sections of the society with emphasis on improving the qualities of life of poor women and children.

At the time of its inception, the founders have broadly laid down the prospective areas of operations in the memorandum of association of the Organisation. However, in the initial phase of our activities we had restricted our area of operations to the following:-

1. To work for promotion of heath and education, environment, awareness, youth mobilisation, advocacy human rights and work for the welfare of women and child.
2. To arrange and manage welfare activities for poor and destitude, orphans, widows and old aged and handicapped people.
3. To create awareness towards, respects, protection and advancement of women and girl child.
4. To arrange and manage self help groups, household/small scale industries etc for the purpose of creating employment for women & girls.
5. To arrange, organise and manage free medical and charitable camp for poor and needy.
6. To provide the semi-skilled jobs for self employment of poor and needy people including computer type and shorthand, cutting, tailoring etc.

Vision
Provide educational & medical facilities, opportunities for sustainable livelihood to the deprived section of society with emphasis on enhancement of quality of life of children and destitute women. 
Mission
In line with the above Vision, we commit ourselves -

		To identify with and work along the economically and socially deprived section of the society- starting with children, so that they become educated, skilled and aware.
		Enable destitute children to be self-reliant and enjoy a healthy, dignified and sustainable quality of life
		And to that end, act as a resource to and collaborate with other agencies -governmental or non-governmental, as well as suitably intervene in policy formulation.
		To facilitate poor women's social and economic empowerment through formation of self reliant women's Self Help Schemes.
		Creating confidence and awareness among women regarding their status, health &nutrition, education, sanitation & hygiene, legal rights and economic upliftment.

Area of Support
Unattended / Orphan children on the street, helpless; dejected women, widows without any support system.

PROJECT UNDERTAKEN

I) Project "Light to Life"

Aim: The project aims to bring beggars especially women and children begging at the traffic signals, railway platform and bus stands into mainstream of the society.

II) Organizing Medical camps for people living in slums

Aim: To ensure that basic medical facilities & counseling is available to the needy section of society.

III) Celebration of Women's Day
Aim: To create awareness towards,respects, protection and advancement of women and girl child.
IV) Children Day Celebration

Aim: To Provide counseling regarding formal and vocational education.

In the equality of all human lives and that all have the same fundamental rights, which are to be recognized and upheld at all times.
In the value in every voice and that a lack of voice is a very damaging form of poverty. An individual without a voice is without a place in the development process. This is unacceptable. Development can only be relevant and sustainable when those directly affected are given their right to have an influential say in matters relating to their welfare.
That poverty is eradicable and that vulnerability and suffering are not pre-ordained events. In world rich with resources, poverty can, and should be eradicated.
Unequal power relations fuel poverty and that discrimination on the basis of gender, race, class, caste and ability, increase people's vulnerability to poverty. There is a link between the perpetuation of poverty and unjust policies and practices, which can be challenged and removed through participatory democracy.
Our motto is "Give them a chance, not charity". With this in perspective, we engage all the inmates in productive activities which enable them to partly earn their livelihood and maintain self dignity and respect.

Global Care and Society is registered with the Registrars of Societies under society registration Act, 1860. Our Foundation currently has its official office only in Delhi at     E 318, Greater Kailash II, New Delhi 110048 and looking forward to expand our efforts to all major cities and towns of India.
